Education Sponsorship

Believing education to be the first building block in a developing nation, The Trust has, from its inception, sponsored students from the area in second and tertiary education. Many young people have graduated from the University of Malawi and other third level institutions with the help of Trust sponsorship. There is a long waiting list of clever young people in the area who want to avail of this scheme. Unfortunately due to a shortage of sponsors we cannot send nearly enough students to study. We have currently eight youngsters attending secondary level schools and one attending University. If you could like to help some of these bright and motivated students please contact us at info@billysmalawiproject.org. The average cost of funding a child is approximately 15 euro per week. Sponsorees are sent to a reputable school and their progress is closely monitored by Trust personnel based in Malawi. School fees and other expenses are paid directly by the Trust to the school. Books, clothing and other requirements are purchased on behalf of the students by Trust representatives. A limited amount of pocket money is made available to the students for discretionary spending.

Kindly donated jewellery

Local jeweller Niamh Utsch has kindly donated some magnificent yellow and white gold handmade jewellry to the Trust.

This jewellry is offered for sale with all proceeds going to help fund medication for the clinic.
