Third Miles For Malawi Run

The Miles For Malawi run took place in Springfield Mass U.S.A. on November 25th in Van Horn Park. Runners and walkers took part on a cold but dry new England morning. This was the third annual run and the organisers were happy with the turnout of participants. The run is becoming a regular feature in Thanksgiving morning activities for a number of individuals and families in the area. Men, women, teens, children, babies and even some family pets participated. Prizes were awarded in a number of categories. The Don Dowd Perpetual Trophy was awarded to the team with the most competitors taking part in the walk. The Cathedral High School athletics team took the prize. This is the first year the award has been made.

The organisers and the board of the Trust extend thanks to all who took part. Money raised will be spent on medication, dressings and other basic necessities required at the clinic in Cape Maclear.
